Grievance Redressal Committee

  1. GRIEVANCE REDRESSAL FORUM

The Grievance Redressal Cell at CM College of Arts and Science attempts to address genuine problems and complaints of students, whatever be the nature of the problem. The Grievance Redressal Cell has been formed solely to provide solutions for the grievances of the students which arise then and there. The students are fully free to submit their grievances regarding academic or personal matters. Students are encouraged to use the suggestion boxes placed on the campus to express constructive suggestions and grievances. Students are requested to note that making a complaint is serious, and therefore they are to use this power in a responsible manner. At the same time, the college assures students that once a complaint is made, it will be treated with sensitivity and confidentiality.

This cell is to maintain a fair, unbiased and consistent system for redressal of various issues faced by the students. To ensure strict confidentiality so that students approach the Grievance Redressal Cell without the fear of any vindictive activity. The cell convenes periodic meetings and takes steps to redress the grievance.

  1. DISCIPLINE COMMITTEE

 

  1. Students have to strictly adhere to the discipline codes of the college on campus, in classes and during the programmes. Action against violators taken by the academic council on the basis of enquiry reports and recommendations by the discipline committee will be the final.
  2. No student shall enter the campus without wearing prescribed uniform. A Change in color or type will not be allowed.
  3. Students have to wear the college identity card mandatorily.
  4. Two-wheeler vehicles only are allowed on the campus. Students are strictly informed to obey the traffic rules while driving the vehicles.

 

  1. The facilities of the college are common to all students, and there should not be any discrimination. Students are advised to cultivate a character of goodness to all, irrespective of batch year or department.

  1. NSS

The National Service Scheme (Unit no.151) of CM College of Arts and Science, along with Unit no.304, collectively boasts an active participation of almost 100 students. Since its inception, both Unit no.151 and 304 have been dedicated to fostering a culture of social service among students. Through a range of programmes designed to enrich the socio-cultural fabric of the locality, NSS instills a sense of social responsibility in its participants. Activities such as leadership camps, workshops, blood donation drives, and social forestry initiatives are meticulously planned and executed to provide immediate benefits to society while shaping students into dedicated social advocates. Currently, over a hundred students from the institution are engaged in NSS activities. Participants are required to commit a minimum of 240 hours of service over two consecutive academic years and attend a seven-day special camp as part of their involvement in NSS.

  1. HOSTEL

Accommodation is available for Boys and Girls. Students requiring hostel admission should apply on a separate application form available in the college office. Students admitted to the hostel must abide by the rules and regulations in force and those which may be framed from time to time

  1. CAREER GUIDANCE AND PLACEMENT CELL

The career guidance and placement cell are actively working in the college, which conducts various programs for the career development of the students. Apart from conducting various programmes, the college organises placement drives in collaboration with different recruiters.

  1. Students’ Union 2023-2024

All students of the college are members of the students Union. The office bearers of the Students’ Union are elected by the students by secret ballot from among student nominated candidates for each academic year. The class representatives are elected by their respective classes. Together with the Student Union members, they form the Student Council. Under the guidance of the Staff Advisor, the Union organizes a wide range of activities such as Union Inauguration, College Day, Fine Arts Day, Sports Day and other cultural competitions.

  1. SCHOLARSHIP AND FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

The College provides a range of scholarships aimed at supporting students from marginalized backgrounds. These scholarships are available for different courses offered at the college.

Students enrolled in BA in Mass Communication& Journalism and a BSc in Computer Science will receive a 20% scholarship per semester. For the students pursuing MA or M. Com courses, a 30% scholarship per semester will be granted.

Imam Razi Merit Scholarship

This scholarship was introduced in the academic year 2022-23. The scheme offers a 100% scholarship to those who have obtained an Outstanding grade in their exams, relieving them of the financial stress of tuition fees. Additionally, students with an A+ grade can avail a 60% scholarship, provided they meet fee payment deadlines. Reimbursement of the scholarship amount will occur after the university results are released.

The Champion’s Path Sports Scholarship

This scholarship programme is designed to support college students who have a passion for sports and are striving to excel in their academic pursuits. The scholarship programme aims to provide financial assistance to help deserving students achieve their goals and ambitions. The”Champion’s Path Sports Scholarship Program “is open to all students who are currently enrolled in the college and have a keen interest in sports.

  1. SPORTS ACTIVITIES

CM league football and cricket are some of the exciting events for those who are sports fans. College conducts it in a professional manner by initially setting up teams under selected teachers as managers, then bidding events for the players are organized, and each player is given particular value. Competitive bidding takes place among different teams, and organizes the tournament in a professional way. Through this systematic procedure, we are able to identify talented football players amongst the students and provide opportunities to compete in various tournaments across India. The college also provide professional coaching in sports.

  1. ANTI-RAGGING CELL

The college’s Anti ragging cell, consisting of faculty and student members, continuously looks into the grievances of all alarmed activities and proceeds with remedial actions.

Activities

  • To coordinate orientation classes to all students.
  • To make the campus free from all ragging activities.
  • To report to the authorities concerned in case any such cases are reported.
  1. ANTI-SEXUAL HARASSMENT COMMITTEE

This committee looks into the matters of sexual harassment. It comprises the members of faculties and students.

Activities.

  • To coordinate orientation classes to female students.
  • To make the campus free from the sexual harassment.
  • To redress the grievances of the female students in the college.
  1. Computer lab

The computer lab facility provides students with a dynamic learning environment equipped with the latest technology. With high-speed internet access and a wide range of software applications, students have the opportunity to enhance their digital skills and engage in practical hands-on learning.

  1. Media lab

The media room is  designed exclusively for students to excel in media studies. Equipped with cutting-edge editing software and advanced media technologies, it provides an immersive learning environment, enabling students to hone their skills and stay ahead in the dynamic world of media.

 

  1. Bus Facility

The college offers safe and convenient bus transportation exclusively for female students. Bus fees are fixed based on the distance travelled, ensuring affordability and accessibility for all. A Separate application form needs to be filled out for the bus facility.
